From Path of the Heart director Sharon Forrest:
I have had the honor of being Mama Sharon to hundreds of Peruvian children since 1992. Some of these precious children currently live in orphanages which we help support and Willoq in the mountains outside of Ollantaytambo. We also assist numerous families in the villages of Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley.
These darling children line up to receive their gift and school supplies, run and hide them and then get back in line again.

We have "adopted" a number of special Peruvian youth. We cover the educational and university expenses, plus specialized tutoring, room and board, traveling and clothing costs of young men and women who are exceptionally bright and/or gifted.
I decided to start the Path of the Heart Fund, because I realized that I could no longer do it all alone. More children need sponsorship.
San Juan Pueblo is home to 101 children, the majority of whom were abandoned between the ages of birth and 20 days old. They were found in the garbage, on doorsteps, in church pews and on the street. Now, they enjoy a warm, safe and nurturing environment.
Willoq is the home of approximately 176 indigenous children from the surrounding mountain areas. Preserving and honoring the ancient culture and traditions of these children is our goal. Support to the children of Willoq comes in the form of school supplies and educational materials, and specialized tutoring.
We stopped to pick up a native lady with a bundle on her back. She was miles from the nearest village. This is the child that she carried in her bundle. The baby was in a coma and paralyzed with spinal meningitis. Thanks to the power of God and hands-on-healing she was healed in minutes.

As you can see, much work needs to be done. The world would lose some of its brightness if the light of these children were not shining out into it.
These exceptional children will come of age in time to take leadership roles in the completely transformed world predicted to come to pass over the next dozen years.
Let us welcome them.
Let us support them.
They are our future.

A Safe Harbor. In the very near future we will have our Safe Harbor programs up and running. Safe Harbor will offer a safe haven for battered women and children, children of the street, teenage unwed mothers and the so called "Throw Aways."
By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.
